Death notice
Although he went much too early, Ken was able to enjoy many good weeks at home in good spirits and health after his glioblastomas diagnosis in mid-August. The end came quicker than expected but thankfully he went with little time in the hospital and passed peacefully in his sleep.
Ken was the son of Marg and Ian (passed), brother to John and David, brother-in-law to Barb and Michele, uncle to Adam, Tori, Brandon, and Melanie, and step-grandfather to Tristan and Mia. He was loved and will be missed.
Ken was a rare breed that enjoyed standing in front of a net and have pucks rifled at him as a hockey goalie. He played hockey for dozens of teams, enjoyed the game, and the many friendships that he made. Like most he migrated to enjoying the sport on TV but was always a sports fan.
After school he worked for many years as a machinist and eventually followed his father’s example and moved into the printing industry.
Ken moved to Penetanguishene in 2017 and enjoyed participating in the community. He made many friendships playing darts and pool as well as volunteering at the hospital, church, and other town activities. He was there to support his mom when his father passed, and they kept each other company in the years that followed.
Due to COVID the family is uncomfortable hosting a gathering at this time, but we hope everyone will join us in celebrating Ken’s life and raise a glass and share your condolences in smaller gatherings as we see each other.
