KENNETH (KEN) WAYNE MOODIE, October 9, 1948 – December 1, 2021
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ken at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 73 years. He will be greatly missed by the love of his life Sandy; daughters Brandy (Cordell) Madrigga, Barbra (Scott) Lechman, and Kendall (Bradley) Childs; and four grandchildren Steven, Tia, Kathryn, and Charlotte.
He is also survived by his two sisters, Kathy Masters and Karen Burden; three brothers Dennis Moodie, Brian Moodie, and Bruce Moodie; Aunt Iris Moodie; Cousin Gordon Moodie; extended family Holly Young, Mercedes Young, Patrick Young, Brennen Young, Emerson Young, and Otillia Young; as well as numerous extended relatives and friends.
Ken was born in Winnipeg on October 9, 1948, the first child of eight and lived most of his life in Winnipeg. Throughout his life he spent his time enjoying and mastering numerous hobbies such as riding and fixing motorcycles, playing chess, playing guitar, hunting, competitive shooting, building and flying model airplanes, working on and flying aircraft, and playing billiards on the regulation sized billiards table he rebuilt.
Ken’s true love and joy in life was his family, which he always held dear in his heart, and he was known to speak proudly about the family he had been blessed to have in his life. During his career he also made several close friends who he spoke fondly about, and he is greatly respected by all that had the pleasure of meeting him.
Ken’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness and diligence during his stay.
A private family service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday December 20, 2021.
