Keith’s Obituary
Keith Michael Perry (Mike) of Ingomar passed away on July 29, 2021 at the Roseway Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 22, 1953, he was a son of the late Keith and Mary (Anderson) Perry.
Mike was a hard worker and was very kind with a big heart. He enjoyed working with wood, making whirligigs and doing scrollwork. After his diagnosis, he enjoyed being outdoors going mackerel fishing with his friend Kelvin, and commented that he missed not being able to do this the last two summers. In the evenings when he was not playing Yahtzee or cribbage with Kelvin and Paulette, he could be found watching history documentaries, nature, and wildlife shows.
Mike is survived by his beloved cat Seamus, sister Cordelia, stepbrother John (Sharron), nephew Dale (Jennifer), great-nephews Joshua (Kate) and Christian, great-great nephew Christopher, great-great niece Willow, and his beloved Bev’s extended family.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his common law partner Beverley Wilson, sisters Judith (infancy) and Donna, brother John, and stepfather Harvey Eldridge.
Much gratitude to Kelvin and Paulette Munroe whose everyday acts of kindness over the last few years allowed Mike to remain at home during his illness. Thanks to Sharee Smith for dropping off food and helping Mike navigate all the forms and programs that he was eligible for, and to Heather for always checking in on him. You were the daughter he never had. Thanks as well to Pastor Cindy Dunnett for dropping in and seeing to Mike’s and his family’s spirituality. Thanks to Jennifer for watching over Mike, making sure he was comfortable and keeping us informed of his condition.
A special thanks to Mike’s nurse practitioner Maria Ceschiutti, the VON, home care, and the Palliative Care team. Thank you to Dr. Keeler and the Roseway Hospital staff for keeping Mike comfortable during his stay.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home. In keeping with Mike’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private interment will take place at the Ingomar Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in his name can be made to the VON, Roseway Hospital Foundation, Hope for Wildlife, SPCA, or an animal rescue of your choice. Condolences may be left for the family at www.huskilson.net
