Obituary of Kay Power
Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound, on Sunday, November 21st, 2021. Born in Bell Island, Newfoundland, on January 26th, 1927, Catherine Patricia Power (née King) of Owen Sound, was in her 95th year.
Loving mother of Janet Fitzpatrick (Richard) of Whitby, Carol Ann Norcott of Owen Sound, Rosalind Critchell (Rick) of Owen Sound, Martin Power (Debbianne) of Port Elgin, Maxine Doorn of Owen Sound, Brian Power (Nancy) of Owen Sound, and mother-in-law of Debbie Power of Owen Sound. Cherished grandma of 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Also missed by her brother Patrick King (Virginia) of Newfoundland, as well as her nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Leo, son Fred, and by her daughter Rosemarie.
Cremation is taking place and memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, November 25th, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at the Funeral Home at 6:30 p.m. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6 Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Memorial Service at 6:45 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Kay’s life will be held on Friday, November 26th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Father Wojciech Kuzma officiating. Inurnment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Owen Sound. All attending the visitation and funeral service must wear a mask and show proof of double vaccination.
