Obituary of Kathleen Mary Carter
Kathleen Carter of Dorchester in her 85th year. (Kate) (Kathy)(Kay)(BA)(MUDDER)
Devoted mother of Gail Bowman (Dick) of Dorchester and Brendan Carter (Donna) of Crowsnest Pass, Alberta. Loving grandmother of Lee Bowman, Sara Bowman, Conrad Carter and Chad Carter. Sister of Bonnie, Rita, Frank, Bill, Gordon and Don and predeceased by brothers Pat and Kevin and sisters Loretta and Marie. Remembered and loved by so many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Born and raised in Gambo, Newfoundland, where her large family still resides. Her piano is still in the family home where the memories of traditional kitchen parties are so many. Her life in Ontario raising two children on her own, working for a stockbroker or office work by day and playing music with her band at nights and weekends that led her to accumulate so many friends.
Mudder loved life, her family, her Irish and country music, her whiskey and a smoke. Her humour and wit kept us uplifted. She was always “having a time” with the kitchen parties and her music. She was the strongest woman we had ever known. She overcame so many obstacles and sickness and always rallied. An inspiration and loved by so many. Her body said “enough” and she had to go and reunite with those before her. We are sure she is leading a kitchen party with music and singing and “having a time.”
Cremation has taken place.
An inurnment service will be held at the Dorchester Union Cemetery Columbarium on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. Due to COVID 19 protocols and you wish to attend the service, you are asked to telephone the funeral home at (519)-268-7672 to register your name, telephone number and number of attendees in your group. Facemasks/coverings are deemed mandatory.
