Kathleen Janie Shaddick Allison 2021

Janie Kathleen Shaddick (Allison)
It is with a heavy heart and sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Janie Shaddick (Allison) of Lower Derby, at the age of 93. She was a wonderful mother to daughters Cindy Taylor (Bob) Miramichi, Elsie Barrett (Bob) Charlottetown PEI, Ethel Freer (Steve) Olean, New York, USA and son Dwight Shaddick (Janice) of Fredericton as well as a sister to David (Taffi) Allison Toronto and sister-in-law Phyllis (Weldon) Allison. She was the loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Arnold Shaddick (2015), brothers, Raymond, Weldon, Roy, Johnny and sisters Dolly Sawyer, Betty Ann Connors, Mae Stewart, Elsie Allison.
Kathleen was loved by all her family from United States and Canada. She was so proud of all her family and pictures were such an important part of her life. Her fridge was completely covered with photos of family, friends and relatives as well as any vacant spot on a shelf. She had many grandchildren and they all looked to hug the little body of a loving lady they referred to as Grammie. She always had a smile for them, time for them and quite often Christmas would result in a new pair of hand knit socks or some hand-made item. Kathleen’s ability in knitting, crocheting and quilting was an inspiration to many including her daughters, grandchildren and nieces. She loved to sit and crochet or knit while sharing stories of the past as well as jokes and current situation of day-to-day life. Kathleen was so thrilled to help where ever she could from washing eggs for Bob to helping Cindy with quilts or offering advice on a quilt with Elsie and Ethel. So much fun was had over her fudge as she was a master at fudge making as well as cooking in general. When fudge was part of a Yankee swap at church activities it quickly became the most sought-after item causing lots of fun. Kathleen was never without a comment but threaded through her comment was always some form of love and wisdom. Kathleen was so fondly loved by her little church congregation at Lower Derby United Baptist church and so respected and admired for her steadfast faith in Jesus Christ. She loved it when Pastor Darel Tozer acknowledged her age and the length of time she had been in the faith.
