Obituary
With a heavy heart, we announce the sudden passing at 82 of Kaethe (Kathy) Buehrle (née Stoeckel). From the former Yugoslavia and part of the Donau-Schwabian ethnic minority, Kaethe and her family were refugees in Germany during the second world war before emigrating to Canada. Kathy embraced Canada and loved the country. She met her first husband Siegfried Buehrle in Toronto and shortly afterward moved their young family to Peterborough. Widowed at the age of 39, Kathy later re-married Leonard Baskerville before relocating to Calgary, Alberta. Len and Kathy spent 23 happy years together before Len also sadly passed away.
Kathy loved to cook and entertain. Her incredible multi-course family feasts will be greatly missed by all. A proud Oma, Kathy loved her grandchildren. In addition to this, she was an avid bridge and cribbage player and golfer. She enjoyed much time on the many beautiful Alberta golf courses with friends and family.
Kathy is survived by her children Michael and Anita and their spouses Melanie and Chris; sister Rosemarie and brother Horst and grandchildren Katrina, Alicia, and Karl. Online condolences and memories can be shared at www.milestonecremation.ca
