Obituary of Karen Hope Kondert
Kondert, Karen Hope – Of Smiths Falls, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Friday, January 8, 20201 at the age of 68.
Karen is survived by her husband Thomas of 48 years, son Andrew, daughter Sarah (Robert) Burris, sister Brenda (late Ron) Cooper, and brothers-in-law David (Carol) West, and Ken Kondert. Also survived by four nieces, two nephews and their families. She was a special mom and friend to many.
Karen devoted her life to her family, friends, church and community. She loved gardening, cooking, baking, and too many crafts to name. She volunteered with Girl Guides of Canada, and Big Brothers & Big Sisters. She was an active member of the ACW at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Merrickville and more recently, St. John’s Anglican Church in Smiths Falls.
Cremation has been entrusted to Lannin Funeral Home. A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held in the Springtime. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital or the Ottawa Hospital Irving Greenburg Family Cancer Centre.
