Karen Lynn Crandall-Stroud, 69,
passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday, January
21st, 2021.
Born in Moncton, Karen was the
oldest child of Nelson and Doris (Kinnear) Crandall. After graduating
from the University of New Brunswick, Karen lived many years in Grand
Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland; her husband’s hometown.
Through her life she had various
careers. She previously worked for the federal government, had several
entrepreneurial ventures, as well as book keeping which was her career
at the time of her retirement.
She was passionate about arts
and crafts. She loved quilting and cross stitch, and in her younger
years was active in a local drama group in Newfoundland. Her family
will always remember her love of music and singing, and was a member
of the choir at First Baptist Church for many years. She was also an
avid reader, often with multiple books, usually mysteries, being read
at the same time, and was a strong supporter of public libraries.
Karen will be greatly missed by
her daughter Victoria Stroud-Arsenault (Andrew) of Riverview, and son
Adam Stroud (Shelley) of Toronto; her grandson Anthem Arsenault;
sister-in-law Janice Stroud; as well as many cousins, co-workers and
friends across Atlantic Canada. She was the last surviving member of
her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she
was predeceased by her husband Glenn Stroud (1987) and brother, John
(2019).
A Service to Celebrate and
Honour Karen’s life will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at
1:00 pm from First Baptist Church.
