Obituary of Justina E. Fleming
Passed peacefully away at the Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavillon, Carbonear, Justina Emily Fleming (nee: Lawlor), Age 78, formerly of Cappahayden, Churchill Falls, Labrador City, and Harbour Grace.
Predeceased by her parents, Harold and Carmel Lawlor.
Leaving to mourn, her loving husband of 53 years, Frank Fleming; her children: Liam (Janelle McInnis) and Tara (Frank Poce); four grandsons: Seamus and Elliot Fleming, and Sam and Max Poce; as well as her siblings: Will (Lill), Albert (Theresa), Mary (Llew), Carmel (Herman), and Joe (Margie); also leaving to mourn a wide circle of nephews and nieces, family, and friends.
Justina was a person of faith, who valued family, friendship, and good conversation. She was an educator for over 30 years, over the course of her career, working in Harbour Grace, the Southern Shore, Churchill Falls, and Labrador City. Many students benefited from her kindness, tremendous energy, and work ethic.
The family would like to thank Dr. Becker, as well as the staff of the long-term care facility of the Carbonear Hospital.
A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Riverhead, Harbour Grace on Thursday, November 25 at 10:30 a.m.
Visitation will be held at Noel’s Funeral Home, Harbour Grace on Wednesday, November 24 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Proof of Vaccination will be required to attend the visitation and the Funeral Mass.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of one’s choice.
