DAVIDSON, Ethel Rae JUNE
With sad and heavy hearts we announce the passing of June Davidson (nee Holmes) at age 89, peacefully on July 4, 2021 at Fairview Manor in Almonte, Ontario. Previously deceased by the love of her life, husband Cecil, loving parents Samuel and Agnes Holmes and siblings Mary-Anne, Frances, Robert (Bob), and Clarke, she is survived by sister Christina, daughters Druscilla Flemming (Jamie) and Debra (Jack) and son Gregory (Petra) as well as beloved grandchildren Samantha (Kyle) Newton-Rath, Brock (Angela) and Kurtis, cherished great-grand-children Joe (Zoe), Josh, Lexi, Jack, Jude, Kane, Savina and Jackson and great-great grandson Eli.
Loving and generous, June, a teacher, taught in Pembroke, Ontario, Chelsea and Aylmer, Quebec and Almonte, Ontario. She was an active member of the United Church Fireside group and taught 4H classes in Almonte. After retirement she worked part-time at McCormick’s Ladies Wear in Almonte and then owned and operated Stonebridge Heirlooms in Pakenham with partners Marion Elgood, Barbara Blair and Pauline Rorwick. June and Cecil loved to travel, shop for antiques, try new restaurants and spend time with friends and family. They spent winters in Zephyrhills, Florida where June learned to swim and to love bingo.
A private internment service will be held in Beachburg, Ontario at a date yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations to World Vision Canada would be appreciated.
