June was a prairie girl at heart, born in Watrous, Saskatchewan on September 13, 1949. Her siblings lovingly called her “Gran”; as second oldest of 7 children she was often tasked with looking after the youngest. They also speak of her as fun-loving and detailed, relishing opportunities to celebrate the milestones and special occasions in their lives through scrapbooks, photo albums, visits, and more. She and Fred were married on April 12, 1969. After stints in both Saskatchewan and Manitoba, they moved to BC in 1991. Over the years, June worked in Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, and finally Abbotsford in a number of capacities, including as receptionist, administrative accounting, and also self-employed through home-based businesses Artex, Creative Circle, and most recently Party Lite. In her home-based businesses, she mentored many service representatives who describe June as kind, gentle, humorous, and never-tiring. She achieved Canada top sales a number of times with each of these home-based businesses. June was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed crafting and cooking with her grandchildren and in her semi-retirement years she and Fred found much joy visiting the Sunshine Coast. She will be missed by all who knew her, as evidenced by the many Facebook and Instagram messages posted within hours of her passing. June was baptized as a teen and most recently attended Northview Church in Abbotsford.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 am on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021 at the Seven Oaks Alliance Church in Abbotsford following a 10:00 am viewing at the same location. I’m so sad to lose such a wonderful friend. June was an amazing woman. She taught me more about direct selling than any other leader I’ve had. My heart goes out to the family. May you seek comfort through the precious memories you have made through the years. It’s a joy to know that one day we will rejoice again in heaven. Keep on lighting those candles in heaven – you are an angel!
