It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Judith Charlene Muggah on Saturday July 31, 2021 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Frances (MacLeod) MacDonald.
Charlene trained as an LPN at Douglas Hospital in Quebec and entered the HealthCare field in 1967. She returned to Sydney in 1971 and worked at Sydney City Hospital and the Cape Breton Regional Hospital until she retired in 1995.Charlene was active in many community support groups and was well known for her generosity and willingness to help others. After retirement she frequently served as a caregiver in the Sydney area.
She is survived by her son Trevor Jenkins, Toronto, sister Jackie (Ron)O’Flaherty, Hubbards, niece Katherine Macleod, Fredericton, grandniece, Olivia Boisvert, Fredericton, grand nephew, Alex Boisvert, Fredericton.
Besides her parents, Charlene was predeceased by her husband Ross Muggah, Sydney, Aunt Myra Watson, Point Edward, nephew Fraser MacLeod, Fall River, and loving Aunt Florence MacDonald of Sydney who raised Charlene and Jackie following their mother’s death in 1953.
Funeral service will be held Thursday August 5, 2021 at 11 am, in Sydney Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ritchie Robinson officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery. Covid protocal is in place.
The family would like to thank Charlene’s friends and neighbors for their support during her illness. A special thank you to the Doctors and nurses at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion.
Memorial Donations may be made to Caregivers Nova Scotia or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
