1949-2021
Passed away with family by her side at the Niagara Health System, St. Catharines Site, on October 2, 2021. Judie, in her 73rd year, was the loving mother of Jennifer Savage (Terry Smith) and Heather St. Amand (Jonathan). Special Grammy to Taylor and Jordyn Savage and Sophie St. Amand. Devoted daughter of the late Ron and Ruth Walker (nee Dobbin). Dear sister of Bette Harpur (Doug). She was predeceased by her parents and loving son-in-law George Savage Jr. Judie was born in St. John, New Brunswick. She was a caring elementary school teacher who specialized in English as a Second Language (ESL) and loved every minute of it. A memorial service will be held at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse Palyfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road, Ottawa on Friday November 12, 2021 at 1pm. Following Covid protocol, the family has requested that attendance be only available to fully vaccinated guests by RSVP. Guests must register in advance using the link provided below this notice. A private family interment will take place at Dales Cemetery, Cumberland. Following the service friends are invited to join the family at Maple Hall, Cumberland for a reception. A special thanks to the staff of Portobello Retirement Residence (Orleans) and Linhaven Long Term Care staff (St. Catharines) for the wonderful care given to her in the last years of her life. In Judie’s memory donations may be made to the Diabetes Society.
