Obituary of Joyce Alice Woodcock
With sadness the family announce the passing of Joyce Alice Woodcock, wife of the late Bertie “Austin” Woodcock of McGivney, NB, occurred on January 28, 2021 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Born on July 4, 1936 in Fredericton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Angus and Florence (Elder) Urquhart.
Joyce is survived by her children, Wanda Green (Gordon) of Parker Ridge, Francine Howe (Leo) of Alberta, Jocelyn Gregorowich (Len) of British Columbia, Miles Wookcock (Judy) of Upper Durham, Lorraine Good (Bruce) of Fredericton, Starr Thompson of Fredericton, Dana Woodcock (Patricia) of Alberta, Jenny Derrah (Kevin) of Estey’s Bridge, Wade Woodcock of McGivney, Lisa Gilmore (Ivan) of Fredericton and Robin Woodcock (Mark) of Beaverdam; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Marjorie Lounsbury of The Glades, Carol Anderson of Taymouth, Vida Webber of Taymouth; sister-in-law, Laura Stewart of Enfield, NS; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Joyce was predeceased by her son, Owen Woodcock; and brother, Jimmy Urquhart.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of York Funeral Home’s Miramichi Valley Chapel. Due to current restrictions, there will no immediate services. A Graveside Service will be held in McGivney Community Cemetery at a later date. A special thanks is extended by the family to Dr. Kerr, Dr. Smith and the nursing staff at the DECRH for the exceptional care they provided to Joyce and to her home care workers for their care and support. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Taymouth United Church or a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
