At the
Colville Manor, Souris, the peaceful passing of Joseph Merlin McAree
age 79, devoted husband of 52 years to Bette (nee MacDonald) McAree,
occurred on Monday, December 27, 2021 with family by his side. Born in
St. Teresa, PE, August 14, 1942, he was the son of the late Joseph and
Ethel (Trainor) McAree. Dear father of Jeanne McAree, Hudson Mass,
Darin McAree (Linda Brown) Lower Montague, Kent McAree, Cardigan,
Megan Clinton (Morgan)Fortune, Grampie of Carmie and Remy Clinton;
sister-in-law Geraldine MacDonald, Charlottetown, brother-in-law,
Charles D. MacDonald, Charlottetown; nephew Bradley MacDonald (Iain
Harper), Scotland. Predeceased by brother Arthur; brother-in-law Tommy
MacDonald; sisters-in-law Mary Jo MacDonald, Karen MacDonald and niece
Sherri Lynn MacDonald.
Due to Covid-19
restrictions no public visiting. Private family Mass (by invitation)
to be held on Friday, December 31, 2021at 1:00 pm at St. George’s
Catholic Church. Interment to take place in the Parish Cemetery.
Online condolences and donations to the St. Georges Cemetery Fund or
to the Alzheimer Society may be made through the Funeral Home website

The
family would like to thank Dr. Craig Malone and Staff at the Colville
Manor, Lupin Lane, for their compassion and care given to Joseph and
the family during his stay.
