Obituary
Mr. Joseph “Joe” Polgar of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Barbara “Barb” Polgar, passed away suddenly in Lethbridge on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the age of 88 years.
Besides his loving wife Barbara, he is survived by his son Steven (Tina); grandsons Damian (ReAnn), Brandon, Ethan, Carson and Anson; great grandson Arlin; stepchildren Ron (Sheila), Deborah and Cecil. He is predeceased by his mother Julianna and son Joseph “Joey”.
Born in a 2-room home, Joe started working at the age of 5 to help support his mother and sisters. As a farm hand and coal miner. During the soviet occupation, Joe snuck out of Hungary to Holland then got on a boat to Canada. In Canada Joe made his way to a Pincher Creek farm, then to Lethbridge where he worked at Tollestrup Construction where he was a miner for 35 years.
When Joe retired, he split his time between Utah visiting family and at home spending time with his wife and taking care of his garden and yard work. He spent countless summers camping at the lake and fishing.
A Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, on Friday, October 1, 2021, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, October 1, 2021, at MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY, 1210 Scenic Dr S, Lethbridge, Alberta.
