Obituary
Blair Jessome, 76
Mill Creek
It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Blair Jessome, announce his passing on Thursday, April 08, 2021 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Mill Creek, on August 28, 1944, Blair was the son of the late Louis and Ellen (Quinn) Jessome. Blair was a self-employed fisherman until the time of his death. Before coming into the fishery, he worked as a garage attendant at the Texaco in Bras d’Or. He then moved on to work at JD Steele Monuments in North Sydney.
Family and friends were first and foremost in his life, especially his wife Cecilia, son Charlie V and daughter Nicole. Blair was a quiet, kind and loving person to all he met. He was an avid Montreal Canadians fan and truly enjoyed the opportunity to attend games in person.
Blair was loved immensely by his grandchildren, Brydon Briand, Sophia Briand, Brody Nicholls-Jessome, Makayla Nicholls-Lesage and Mckenzie Nicholls-Lesage. He is survived by siblings, brother Stan (Cora Reiley), sisters Theresa Serwatick, Venita Power and sister-in-law Etta (Marsh) Jessome. He was predeceased by sister Deloris (Hugh) McEachern, brothers Francis, Louis (Joan MacGillivary) and Billy (Alice Hayes).
Visitation for the late Blair Jessome will be held on Fri April 16, 2021 from 2-5 pm in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Blair’s life will take place at St Joseph’s Church, Bras d’Or on Saturday April 17, 2021 at 10:30 am. Burial will occur at a later date.
