Age 67, Plateau, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 6, 2021, in the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Alphonse was a son of the late Levis and the late Elizabeth (Poirier) Camus.
Besides working in the woods and the fish plant, Alphonse worked at Le Portage Golf Course for the last 20 years. He had a passion for fishing and hunting. He was a homebody and loved to watch television. Alphonse was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He did everything he could for his family and friends.
Alphonse is survived by his wife, Thelma Roach; son, Jason Roach (Adele); daughter, Nancy Roach; brothers, Lomay Camus, Richard (Lucie) Camus, Cyril Camus, and Pierre Paul Camus; sisters, Marie Victoire Camus (Angus), Muriel Camus, Donalda Poirier, Diane Camus (Lloyd), and Betty Ann Camus; grandson, Austin Wadden. He was predeceased by brothers, Joseph Daniel Camus, Alex Camus, and André Camus.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service (for family only) will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 10:30 AM in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Chéticamp with Father Pierre Antoine St. Cyr officiating. Due to COVID- 9 restrictions, masks are required.
