Joseph A. Hood
1925-2021
Joseph Hood, 95, formerly of Riverview, NB; passed
away at Fundy Royal Manor, Hillsborough, on Saturday, January 30,
2021. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland he was the son of the late William
and Jessie (Lumsden) Hood.
Joe was a past member of the Trinity United Church, where he
was involved with the choir and the session within the church. He was
a Phys-Ed Teacher with the YMCA in Montreal and the director of
program services for 8 years with the Boys and Girls Club of Canada.
Joe and his late wife Ena Mae were owners and managers of the Maejo
Manor in Shemogue for 10 years. Joe was a former member of the H.M
British Royal Marines for 3 years.
He is survived by sons Joseph Hood of PEI and Russell Hood of
Montreal; stepsons Bruce Biggar of Calgary and Douglas Biggar (Erika)
of Lower Coverdale, stepdaughter Barbara McAleer (Jim Mills) of
Riverview; and by loving grandchildren Steven (Krista) and Samantha
Landry (Tyler) both of Riverview and by one great grandson,
Malcolm.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife
Pearl Lewis (Longley) Hood in 1981 and second wife Ena Mae in
2019
Due to Co-Vid 19 Restrictions, services will be held at a
later date.
Donations in Joseph’s memory made to the Canadian Cancer
Society or to the Heart Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by his
family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Brothers Riverview
