Obituary of John Pitts
It is with sadness we announce the death of John Alexander Pitts, 78 of Munroe Avenue Extension on Friday, January 8, 2021 in the Halifax Infirmary with his family by his side.
Born in Pictou on April 18, 1942, he was a son of the late John “Jack” and Helen (Pitts) Pitts.
John was an autobody repair man by trade first working with his father and lastly with his son owning and operating John Pitts & Sons Autobody. John was an outdoors man, enjoying going to his camp at Larry’s River, fishing and hunting.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Jean (LeFresne); sons Robert, David (Teresa) and Joseph “Sandy”; sisters Paulette Cormier, Patsy Grealey (Glen), Audrey Adams (David); brothers Paul, Vernon (Shirley) and Ian Pitts; brothers-in-law, David Fillier, Gary Rumley, Howard LeFresne and sister-in-law Joan Verge.
John was predeceased by sisters Essie Fillier and Bernadette “Bunny” Rumley; brothers-in-law James Cormier and Don Verge and sisters-in-law Sharon Pitts and Christine LeFresne.
Due to covid restrictions, there will be no public visitations or funeral service. A family grave side service will take place at 11 am Monday at Lourdes Cemetery with Father Barrett Clair Johnson officiating.
