John Liddle Wood 1931 2021

Obituary of John Liddle Wood
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our father, John Liddle Wood, aged 90 of Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan. John died peacefully in hospital surrounded by his family on December 14th, 2021.
John was predeceased by his parents, Liddle and Ethel, his wife, Maria Elizabeth, his grandson Matthew and his siblings. He is survived by his children, Clifford (Virginia), Lloyd (Brigette), Kevin (Laurie), Dwight (Noreen), Jacqueline, Kristine (Mark) and his dear friend Dorothy McLean along with grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
John was born in Qu’Appelle SK February 28, 1931 and as anyone who knew him could attest, he cared deeply about his family, friends and animals, especially his horses. He spent his entire life farming and ranching on a farm that has been in the family for over 100 years. As with his own father before him, he also enjoyed giving back to the community, through his long-term contributions to the Lions Club of Qu’Appelle. In his later years, he loved nothing more than sharing time with his large family over special dinners together, watching rodeo and hockey games on TV and tending his extensive garden, harvesting his vegetables to share with friends and family. We will remember John’s wry smile, his sense of humour and his cowboy hat!
John will be cremated and a private family gathering will be held. He will be laid to rest at the Vernon Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 26 – 1738 Quebec Avenue, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9 or Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK S4P 2R3 is appreciated.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of John
