Obituary of JOHN BRUCE PUNAK
John Punak
November 3, 1939- November 21, 2021
John Punak passed away the morning of Sunday, November 21, 2021. Survived by his sons Brad (Rebbecca) and Ryan, grandchildren Arianna and Lillian, sister Mary, and many other loved relatives and friends. Also survived by Harold Imhoff, his brother-in-law, who was a great friend to John.
John was predeceased by his wife Darlyne in 2007.
John was a Certified General Accountant and educator. Early in his career, he worked for Labatt’s among other companies throughout Canada. He settled in Coquitlam BC to raise his family with Darlyne and became an instructor at Vancouver Community College where he retired in 1996. Moving back to Winnipeg, he continued working casually with various employers throughout the 2000s.
John loved his pets especially our family dogs Daisy, Blue, and Alex. Sports were important to John. In his younger days, he was an avid bowler, golfer, and loved to ski. He also coached his sons’ many sports and activities, as well as cheered loudly for his Vancouver Canucks and Winnipeg Jets.
Thank you to the Seven Oaks home care team, the staff at St. Joseph’s residence, and staff at Grace Hospital who helped care for our father recently and over the past years.
To honor John and his long battle with rheumatoid arthritis, donations can be made to the Canadian Arthritis Society at arthritis.ca.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of JOHN
