John Sidney Drew 2021

John Sidney Drew
July 8, 1933 – January 22, 2021
A good and honest man of humour, intellect and humility. Loved husband of Merle (nee Clarke) for over 60 years. Together they made a pleasant life for each other and their wonderful family. John is survived by his wife Merle, his sister Diana Drew of Hamilton, his children Maura Drew-Lytle (Shawn Lytle), Clarke Drew (Sheri Fritzley) and Christopher Drew (Julie Drew), and grandchildren Katherine and Erin Lytle, Clayton and Caitlyn Drew and Sydney and Morgan Drew. He always loved listening to jazz music, reading history books, watching the Toronto Blue Jays and a good political debate!
A proud graduate of Queen’s University (Honours Bachelor of Commerce), John worked in the financial industry in Toronto and New York at Baker Weeks, Dean Witter Reynolds, Midland Walwyn, and Brown Brothers Harriman.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donations in his honour would be appreciated by the YWCA of Hamilton, the Royal Victoria Hospital Cancer Centre in Barrie, or Queen’s University in Kingston.
