John O’Neill 2021

John R. O’Neill of Lower Newcastle, Miramichi passed away February 10th, 2021 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 75.
Born in Newcastle, April 9th, 1945, he was the son of the late Louis and Marie (Murdock) O’Neill and a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of the Kinsmen Club and volunteered with the Rock & Roll Festival for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife Shirley (Dunnett) O’Neill that he adored and 3 sons, Raymond (Christine); Shannon (Michelle) and Kirk (Crystal), all residing in Miramichi.
He was also survived by 3 brothers: Donald (Jean) O’Neill of Miramichi; Michael (Kathy) O’Neill of St. John; Patrick (Vicki) O’Neill of Hampton, NB and 3 sisters: Marilyn (Gerald, deceased) of Miramichi; Betsy (Gary) Smith of Cape Breton, NB and Colleen O’Neill of Moncton, NB.
He is predeceased by his parents, brothers Nick and Bob and sisters, Peggy and Heather.
He was the proudest Grampie of seven grandchildren: Owen, Joshua, Madison, Liam, Jay, Spencer & Mason that he adored.
The family received relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Saturday, February 13, 2021, from 6 to 9 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 10:30 am from St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, with Father Godwin Kalu officiating. Please note; facial coverings are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one’s choice.
