August 21st, 1954 – November 18, 2021
With heavy hearts we share the sudden passing of John Ivezic in his 68th year on Thursday November 18th, 2021 at Shalom Manor. Beloved husband of Grace (nee Menegaldo) of 45 years. Dearly loved and proud father of Alex (Mallory, and soon to be grandchild) and Matthew (Angela). Predeceased by his parents Tomica Ivezic (2011) and Josie Ivezic (nee Plese) (2000) and his brother Tom Ivezic (2015) Father-in law Pietro Menegaldo (1997) and mother-in law, Flora Menegaldo (2019).
John will be greatly missed by his aunt and uncle Rose and John Stajduhar, Stoney Creek and Striko and Strina Mile and Zlata Ivezic, Michigan, as well as many relatives in Canada, USA, Croatia and France.
John retired in 2011 from City of Hamilton after 36 years of service.
John was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus council 14421 and 868, lending a helping hand whenever he could.
The family would like to thank Dr Multani and the wonderful staff of Terraceview at Shalom Manor, Grimsby for their kindness and compassionate care of John for almost 3 years.
John was an avid Elvis fan and would look forward to spending weekends in Collingwood during their festival dressed in his Elvis attire, happy to pose for pictures with admirers. John was a great sports enthusiast especially for his sons.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Shalom Manor or Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish would be appreciated.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Rd) STONEY CREEK (905 664 4222) on Monday November 22nd, 2021 from 3 – 5pm and 7-9pm. Proof of full vaccination required. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday November 23, 2021 at 10am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish , open to all, mask required. Interment at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery and Mausoleum, 681 Mud Street, Stoney Creek, Ontario.
