John Joseph Jackie Gallant 1929 2021

The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth
Hospital, Charlottetown, on Friday, August 6, 2021, of John Joseph
(Jackie) Gallant of O’Leary and formerly of Piusville, aged 91 years.
Beloved husband to Bernice M. (nee Gallant) Gallant. Born at Brockton,
PEI, on August 20, 1929, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Mary
Ann (nee Blanchard) Gallant.
Loving father to Claudia Kearley, O’Leary, Cyrus (Patsy)
Gallant, Piusville, Jerry (Linda) Gallant, Stratford, Delores
(Clarence) Blanchard, Piusville, Frances Gallant, Charlottetown, Anne
(Carter) Gallant, O’Leary, Nelson (Kim) Gallant, Piusville, Debbie
(Larry) Adams, Alma, and Wendy Gallant (Lorne Ramsay), Duvar. He will
be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his many grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Olive Gallant, Moncton, Robina
Trainor, Moncton, Ange Reid, Moncton, Theresa McNeill, Alberton,
Marcella (Hedley) Costain, Alberton, Priscilla Costain, Alberton, and
Nelson (Joanne) Gallant, Summerside. He was predeceased by a grandson
Michael Gallant and by a brother, Albert Gallant.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, for
a private visitation Sunday, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Funeral mass
(for family and invited guests only) Monday morning from St. Anthony’s
Church, Woodstock, for funeral mass at 10:30 am. Interment in St.
Anthony’s Cemetery.
Funeral will be live-streamed on St. Anthony’s Facebook page,
Monday morning at 10:30 am.
As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Shriner’s
Hospital for Children would be gratefully appreciated.
Visitors are requested to enter through the chapel entrance
for visitation.
