HORWOOD, John (Jack) David-
Of Belleville and formerly of Point Anne, passed away peacefully Thursday April 22nd, 2021 at the Kingston General Hospital in his 83rd year. Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary (Vechter) in 2001. Predeceased by parents William and Nellie (Blewett) and brothers Thorold, Laurence, Leonard, Graham, Robert and James. Sadly missed by companion Donna Allin.
Dear father of Greg (Jennifer) of Woodstock, Brad (Lori) and Mark (Susan) of Belleville. Cherished grandfather of Michelle, Ben, Matthew, Allie and Laura. Jack will be fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews and friends.
Jack grew up in Point Anne and was extremely proud to consider Point Anne his childhood home. In his later years he never missed an opportunity to drive down Point Anne Lane, giving a tour to whoever would listen. Jack worked 27 years at Mead Johnson/Bristol Myers in the accounting department. He was a good-hearted familiar person to his coworkers, friends and neighbors.
A graveside service will be held for family only at the Belleville Cemetery. Arrangements in the care of the JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME, 80 Highland Ave. Belleville (613-968-5588). Donations can be made in Jack’s memory to the MS Society of Canada. The family would like to thank Bridge Street Retirement Residence and Dr. Bill Bates for their care and compassion.
