It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bumpa.
Husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and beloved friend to so many. Born in Ottawa, to Roy and Irene Boyd preceded by sister Jean Boyd and Mary Ferguson.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife Mollie of 63 years, and sister Lorna Russell (Henry) of Ottawa. Daughters Karen Grand (Richard), Brenda MacCalder (Gordon), grandchildren, Alexandra ( James), Stephanie ( Michael), step grandchildren Sarah (Chris), Aaron, Ross, Carmen and great grandchildren, Jack, Penelope, Owen, Jake , Mitchell, Michael and Ella.
Jack was raised on a farm on the Fallowfield Rd., he loved everything about farming. He enjoyed watching cattle graze , horse shows, and in his elderly years would take his granddaughters to country fairs sharing his love of farm life with them. He also enjoyed attending the Calgary stampede while out West with the heavy horse show being his favorite.
Jack attended Kempville Argiculture College, after graduating Jack joined the Ottawa Hydro, and enjoyed a long career spanning 35 years. Jack then enjoyed the next 10 years with Hulse Playfair and McGary in Ottawa.
Dad always enjoyed time with his family they were his first love. In his later years he took up wood carving which many have received as gifts and are now cherished .
Jack was active in his church and would always give a helping hand to anyone in need. Dad will be remembered for his kindness, his love for his family and his extremely gentle nature.
Our sincere heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Stirling Park and Bayshore Homecare for their compassion and gentle care of our father.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held in January date to be confirmed at Hulse Playfair and McGarry.

Our uncle Jack was a gentleman in every sense of the word. His kind heart will be missed by his family & his many friends. Our sincere sympathy is extended to Mollie & family.
Please advise date in January, I plan to come from Toronto if circumstances here permit.
