Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg on Saturday, November 6th, 2021, John Gordon Winter at 95 years of age. Beloved husband of the late Doris Winter. Dear father of Anne Schaedlich (Godfrey Jenkins), Evelyn Kerkhoven (Cornelis), Linda Island (Michael), Barbara Marian (Glenn), and the late Lloyd Stanley Winter. Cherished grandfather of Paul Schaedlich (Chandra), the late Frank Schaedlich, the late Kevin Schaedlich, Carla Chisholm (Michael), Patrick Island (Julie), Adam Marian, Clayton Marian, and great grandfather of Klarissa, Kaiden, Landen, Braeden, Austin, Declan, Camden. Pre-deceased by his sisters Edna Beatty and Helen Denny, and brothers Harold, Ken, Art, and Jim Winter. Survived by his brother Arnold and his sister Dorothy Ward. A celebration of life for both John and Doris will be held on Saturday November 20th, 2021 at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East in Cobourg from 2 to 4 pm in the reception center. With COVID restrictions all guests must wear masks, sign in for contact tracing, maintain a 2 m distance zone, and obey room restrictions for 40 people at a time. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Victoria Retirement Living as well as the staff of the Northumberland Hills Hospital. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Northumberland Hills Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
