Obituary
John Gordon Reykdal
September 16, 1929 – April 29, 2021
It is with heavy hearts we have to say goodbye to our father, grandfather and great-grandfather (Papa John).
Dad will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his children Linda (Ronald), Richard (Valerie), Donna (Allan), Sandra (Dale); son-in-law Louie; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Isabel; daughter Cheryl; parents Gisli and Julia; two sisters Mae and Joyce.
In his younger years he was a very active member of the Winnipeg Beach community. He spent many years curling, playing baseball as well as serving on numerous committees. Dad was always up for a party. He was the best guitar player and singer around town. Dad was always a go getter. At the young age of 14 he fished with his father and later formed a partnership in the dairy distribution business until his retirement. Dad and mom enjoyed many years of travelling in their motor home and met many new friends along the way. They spent many hours camping and fishing. One of dad`s favourite pastimes was being an expert curler behind the glass. Dad`s family was extremely important to him and he enjoyed every family get together.
The family would like to thank the Gimli Home Care Team for taking such good care of our father. Also thank you to the paramedic team.
Cremation has taken place and due to COVID-19 no formal service will be held.
Condolences may be left on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
