John Georg Alsch Monday July 26th 2021

Loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, John Georg Alsch, age 94 was born April 6, 1927 in Heinzendorf, Germany passed away in Roseview Manor on Monday, July 26, 2021.
He worked at several jobs from bush worker to mechanic after arriving in Canada, finishing his working career with his own company, John’s Saw Sales. He loved fishing & woodworking and puttering with all things mechanical.
He is survived by his children, Monika (Joe Daniele), Christa (Wayne Fortes) and Peter Alsch, granddaughter Caitlin Caissie (Kevin) and two great granddaughters, Kaia and Kaliya. He was predeceased by his wife, Wanda in 2017 and grandson Robby in 1991.
John’s entire family would like to thank all the nurses and PSW’s that looked after him the last few years. He always enjoyed teasing all the nurses and PSW’s who tended to him at home, St. Joe’s, the hospital and especially the staff at Roseview.
Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Sargent & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, August 5, 2021 with Rev. Matthew Diegel officiating. Those wishing to attend John’s service are asked to register online or call the funeral home. Those wishing to attend the service virtually may do so on the Sargent and Son Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
