John Donald – The death occurred peacefully at the Dr. John M. Gillis
Memorial
Lodge, Eldon on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, of John D. MacKinnon of
Kinross in
his 92ndth year. Beloved husband and life partner of 62 years to
Isabel (MacLeod) MacKinnon. Born on May 12th, 1929, son of the late
Hugh and Lexie (MacDonald) MacKinnon, he was a loving husband, father
and grandfather. Survived by his loving wife Isabel, children Sandra
(Peter Boswall), Charlottetown; Susan, Kinross; Johann (Dr. Bernard
Holland), Lower Montague; and Hughena Victoria, BC. Proud grandfather
of Dr. Patrick Holland (Dr. Jenna MacGregor) and Ellen Holland (Andrew
MacNair). Lovingly remembered by his brother-in-laws and
sister-in-laws JD and Jean MacLeod (Scentia Road), Jean and Bill
Frederikson,(Charlottetown) and several nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by sisters Florence Stewart (Clarence) and Katherine
MacNeil (Eric).
John’s life
exemplified unfailing love and service to his family and his
community.Family was extremely important to him. He maintained an
interest in the farm and agriculture in general throughout his
lifetime. He passed on his love of farming and cattle to “his
girls and grandson”. John responded to the needs of his community
throughout his life, serving in leadership roles within his church,
local Lions Club, PEI Tobacco Board, PEI 4-H and the Liberal Party. An
inherently social man, John enjoyed spending time with friends, trips
to the Royal Winter Fair and annual holidays to
Florida.
The family would like to take
this time to thank the Dr. John M. Gillis Memorial Lodge for the care
and comfort given to our husband, father and grandfather during the
past month. Your kindness and compassion has been
appreciated.

Ferguson Logan Funeral Home, Montague. Private family Funeral Service
to take place on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 2:00
pm.
