John Alexander Vogt Wednesday December 22nd 2021

Vogt, John Alexander
It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Dad, John Alexander Vogt, during the early hours of Wednesday, December 22nd at the age of 88.
Dad was an Engineer’s Engineer, always either fixing something or thinking about designing, building, or fixing something.
He was born in the small town of Morse, Saskatchewan at the height of the Depression into a family that valued education. He attended Carleton University and graduated from McGill with an Engineering degree.
He worked practically his entire career at Noranda Mines where he put his Metallurgical Engineering specialty to good use as he progressed into positions of increasing responsibility.
Fortunately, he was also able to enjoy a long retirement with our Mom (Coosje Vogt) before she passed in July of last year.
Dad hails from a large family being the fifth child of Katherine Wiens and David Vogt. He often spoke lovingly of his childhood adventures and his brothers and sisters, Omar Vogt, Paul Vogt, Mary Blois, Clara Viberg, Susan Tooker and Oliver Vogt. He leaves behind his children Ian (Julie), Karen (Geoff) and Dennis (Cheryl) and grandchildren MAC, Cait, Zach, Kiarra, Galen, and Daria as well as many beloved nieces and nephews in Holland, Australia, New Zealand, United States, and Canada.
We are sure right now he is in heaven already providing advice to the angels on how they can engineer things better up there.
Rest in peace Dad.
Details on funeral arrangements to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of John Alexander Vogt Wednesday December 22nd 2021..
