Peacefully, at Bluewater Health, on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, John Alexander (Jack) McDonald passed away in his 94th year with family by his side. Lovingly remembered by his children Lynn (Greg) Goodhill and Steven (Janice) McDonald. Proud grandfather of David (Erica) Goodhill, Nicole and Seana McDonald and great grandfather to Curtis and Beau Goodhill. Very special friend to Ivamae Janes and her family. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (2014), son John Scott McDonald (1997) and grandson Daniel Goodhill. Predeceased by his mother Mysie McDonald and brother Mason (Helen) McDonald. Jack was born in Bosanquet Township. He married Margaret Vipond and lived in Mitchell for several years helping Marg’s family and running a feed store. He then moved back home to Bosanquet and purchased a farm on the Ridge Road where he was devoted to growing delicious fruits and crops. Jack was involved in local politics, became Warden of Lambton County in 1978, and was associated with People’s Telephone for over 30 years. He also was involved in numerous organizations both in Mitchell and Lambton County. Jack will be missed by his family and his many friends and neighbours. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, August 6, 2021, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. At Jack’s request a private family memorial service will be held. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the charity of your choice.
