Jocelyn Rogers (Hulan)

It is with great sadness that the family of Jocelyn Rogers announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the age of 67 years.
Jocelyn leaves to mourn her husband Dermot; sons: Mitchell Rogers, Bradley (Michelle Sass) Rogers; grandchildren: Jackson, Taylor, Oliver Rogers; brothers: Allison (Theresa) Hulan, Avery (Lorna) Hulan, Duncan (Phyllis) Hulan, Gordon (Rosemary) Hulan, Daniel (Elizabeth) Hulan; sisters: Sylvia (Spencer-deceased) Gillam, Sharon (Leo) MacDonald, Katherine (Owen) Rogers; sisters-in-law: Pauline (Harvey) Parsons, Joan (Gaetan) Santerre, Louise (Paul Frecker) Rogers, Lynn Goodland; brother-in-law Kenneth (Irene) Rogers and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Howard Hulan and Mary Margaret Magetta Hulan (Legge), her sister Shirley (William) Fillatree.
Jocelyn had many interests, some of which were gardening, quilting, reading. She loved Newfoundland dogs (we had two since we moved back to Newfoundland). Jocelyn was especially sympathetic to the plight of any underdog in this world who suffered injustice, particularly native children who are victims of residential schools, abused women, and the list goes on. She was a loving partner for nearly 50 years. Her greatest joy of all was our two sons, Mitchell and Bradley, and our three grandchildren, Jackson, Taylor and Oliver. She was proud of how they turned out and how they have remained best friends over the years. I’m sure her love and nurturing played no small part in that. Rest peacefully my love, we will never forget you.
At Jocelyn’s request, cremation will take place at the Humber Valley Crematorium and Memorialization in Pasadena, NL. Burial will be on Thursday, November 25, 2021, 2:00 P.M. at the Anglican Cemetery in McKay’s, NL.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
