It is with deep sadness that the family of Jocelyn MacKinnon announces her peaceful passing Friday January 8, 2021 at Pioneer Ridge.
Jocelyn was born February 20, 1939 in Port Arthur to Marie and Joseph Brophy. Jocelyn worked many years at Lakehead Freightways and then the Municipality of Paipoonge retiring as the clerk of the Municipality.
She was an avid camper spending many years with the Kopka gang and then at Lac Des Mille Lac. Mom was a quilter of beautiful quilts that adorn many of our homes.
Jocelyn will be greatly missed by her son Mike MacKinnon, daughter Maryn Everett and son in law Randy Everett whom she shared a special bond. Also mourning her passing are her granddaughters Colleen (Matt) Aiken, Jessica (Nathan) Park of Leduc AB and her grandson Morgan MacKinnon. Also great grandsons Austyn Aiken and Hayden Park. Also survived by her nephew Doug Corbett whom she was very close with as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Previously deceased by her husband Stewart, her parents Marie and Joseph Brophy her brother Barry Brophy and her sister and brother in law Frances and John Corbett.
A special thank you to Dr. Sheppard and Dr. Chan and the wonderful and amazing staff or plaza 4 at Pioneer Ridge especially Ashley, Chris (aka Cruze) Tara, Tyler and Shauna.
As per moms wishes there will be no formal service. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Should friends so desire, donations to the Rural food Bank c/o Conner Municipal Office 19 Holland Road West Kakabeka Falls, ON P0T 1W0 or St. Joseph’s Care group.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
