Obituary of Joan Seabrook
Joan Irene Seabrook passed away at Riverside Health Complex, Turtleford, Saskatchewan, September 2, 2021 at the age of 90 years.
Joan was born March 1st, 1931, to Harry and Vera Weaver, the middle child of three. She spent her preschool years on the family homestead in Hudson Bay. The family moved to Windsor Ontario, and it was here that her parents met the Lord and became officers within the Salvation Army. The family then moved back to minister in Saskatchewan where Joan completed High School in Indian Head.
After graduation Joan moved to North Battleford where she worked at the Royal Bank. She met Ralph Seabrook and they were married November 24th, 1954. They moved to the farm in the Cleeves Area the spring of 1955, and here they raised their family of 6 children. She was active in the Spruce Lake Pentecostal Church until its closure, where she is fondly remembered by her Sunday School Children. She served on the Local School Board in Spruce Lake, then on to the Turtleford School Division Board. She was active in the Baptist Church in Turtleford where she is remembered by her AWANA Kids. Over the years she held numerous bible studies that affected the lives of many people. She attended the Turtle Lake Four Square Church where she became the Mission Coordinator and supported missions throughout her life.
Joan leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Ralph; children, Vernon (Charlene), Janice (Martin), Steven (Paula), David (Gloria), Evelyn (Glen) and Kathy (Darcy); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Jim (Karen) Weaver; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joan was predeceased by: her parents, Envoys Harry and Vera Weaver; and sister, Vearle (Peter) Marshall.
The Funeral will be held September 11, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Turtle Lake Mission.
