1954-2021
Joanne M. Cole of Harvey, York Co., NB, passed away unexpectedly at
her home on September 25, 2021. She was born on July 11, 1954 at
Harvey, NB, a daughter of the late Carl and Glenna (Henry) Cole.
Joanne was the branch manager at the Harvey Community Library. She
loved the Cadet movement. She became commissioned as part of the
Cadet Instructor Cadre and was known as Captain Cole to many. She
loved books, reading, anything penguin, playing ‘Hay Day’,
knitting and doing jigsaw-puzzles.
She is survived by a daughter, Glenis Gofton (Chris); a son Patrick
Cole (Sara); her siblings, Laurie (Angela), Gordon (Pat), Rev. Roger
(Kathy), Myrna MacDonald (Charlie), James (Ronda) and Sandra Ferris
(Bill); a sister-in-law Sandra Cole and a brother-in-law, Roger
Leckey; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by the love of her
life, Steve Wilkin; a sister Lorna Leckey; two brothers Ritchie Cole
and Raymond Cole (late Debbie); a nephew Carl Leroy Cole and her niece
Barb Cole.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis
Drive, Nackawic, NB on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 12 noon until
2 pm. Due to Covid regulations, those in attendance must be fully
vaccinated and masks will be required. A private funeral service will
be held later with Rev. George Clark officiating, assisted by Rev.
Roger Cole. Interment at Magundy Sand Bank Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dwayne MacDonald, Dana Cole, Isaac
Johnson, Jordon Johnson, Caleb McLean and Chris Cole.
