Obituary of Joan Marion Colpitts

The passing of Joan Marion Colpitts of Fredericton , NB , wife of the late Dale Wallace Colpitts, occurred on December 6, 2021 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 14, 1934 in Colpitts Settlement, NB, she was the daughter of the late Sanford and Mabel (Leaman) Colpitts. Joan was a member of Nashwaaksis United Church , UCW and Choir. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed painting, quilting, sewing and playing games with friends and family.
Joan is survived by daughters, Polly of Calgary, Sarah (Tom) of Fredericton ; grandchildren, Evan Wong of Calgary , Hailee and Alexander MacQueen of Fredericton ; sister, Marilyn Grewe; sister-in-law, Joan Colpitts; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Irene Horton (Delbert), Lila Colpitts, Ruth Hopper (Randall); brother, Gordon Colpitts; brother-in-law, Gerry Grewe, son-in-law, Edward Wong.

Proof of Vaccinations and Gov’t ID is required at all public events. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive , Fredericton on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 2-4 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 2 pm with Rev. Brian DeLong officiating. Public is welcome to register to view the live stream at www.yorkfh.com. Interment will take place in Colpitts Cemetery , Colpitts Settlement at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
