Joan Schuetz December 10th 2021

1925 – 2021
Joan Schuetz was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on October 22, 1925. She passed peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on December 10, 2021. She is predeceased by her loving husband (Louie), her parents (Bill and Lydia Hall) and all of her ten siblings (Orma, Morley, Cyril, Howard, Helen, Ralph, Coy, Janet, Jim and Eva). Joan will be missed by her 2 daughters Nadine (Dan) Nickel and Leona (Don) Muir, 4 grandchildren, Wendy (Gord), Jerry (Cheryl), Michael (Lisa) and Richard (Rebecca), 6 great grandchildren, Keegan, Landon, Hazel, Ewan, Amelia and William, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and her Heaton Place family.
Joan lived in Saskatchewan until 1968. She and Louie moved to Cromer, Manitoba where they continued to farm, spend time with nearby family and become part of the community. She particularly enjoyed baking for community events, becoming known locally as “The Pie Lady”. They retired from farm life in 1989 and moved to Armstrong, BC to be closer to their daughters. Joan was an active member of the community, participating in the United Church Women (UCW), Women’s Institute (WI), Rebekah Lodge, the Armstrong Seniors Activity Centre, The Legion, IPE fundraising and weekly card games with friends. For the last eight years, she made her home at Heaton Place where she continued to enjoy crafts, social activities and outings.
Her warm smile and love for family and friends will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that any donations be made to Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation or a charity of their choice.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Joan Schuetz December 10th 2021..
