In addition to Alton, her husband of over 68 years, Joan is survived by her children; sons Bruce (Christine) of New Glasgow, Brian (Ruth MacConnell) of Durham, NS, and David; daughter Penny Mallett (Lorie) of Saint John, brother Gary Schofield of Ottawa, chosen family Keith and Marlyn Penney, Debbie O’Brien, favorite sister in-law Helen Gallup along with her grandchildren Angela, Alison, Michael, William, Zachary, Aaron, Alana, Kyle, Tara, and Brandon, as well as 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Joan was pre-deceased by a sister, Margaret Schofield. Joan’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Kings Way Care Centre for the love and care shown to Joan and her family during her 2 year stay with them.
