McLEAN, Joan Margaret –
Suddenly entered into rest at the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, Picton, on Thursday, April 22, 2021. Joan McLean (nee White) died at the age of 99. She was the wife of the late William Gillespie “Bill” McLean, former publisher of the Picton Times. Joan was the cherished mother of Peter (Nicole D’Amour) of Ajax. She is predeceased by her father Edwin Ernest White, her mother, Janet Gertrude White (nee Cook), brothers Albert Leslie and Edwin Ernest Jr., and sisters Janet Gertrude and Winifred Francis. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McLean rested at the Whattam-Hicks Funeral Home, 33 Main Street West, Picton (613-476-2450). A Private Family Graveside Service was held at the Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Fran Langlois officiating. To celebrate Joan’s life, donations can be made to Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors, Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation or St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, Picton.
