Joan Marie Leaning (née Robinson) of Kincardine, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, at Huron Shores Hospice, Tiverton on Thursday, July 1st, 2021, in her 85th year.
Beloved wife of the late Edmund Jack “Ted” Leaning.
Loving mother of Sandra Lill and husband Jamie and Edmund Peter “Pete” Leaning (Catherine).
Affectionately remembered by daughter-in-law Karen Leaning and stepchildren, Steve Flick and wife Randa and Lisa O’Donnell and husband Tim.
Missed by her grandchildren, Peter (Angelica) Leaning, Heather (Rafael) Leaning, Janet (Ryan) Garvey, Thomas Lill, Joseph Lill, Ryan (Lindsay) Holtmann and nine great-grandchildren.
Also survived by sister Susan Legate and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her son David Leaning (April 2021), parents Thomas and Margaret “Peg” (née Rydall) Robinson sister Barbara Binkley (Alan), brother-in-law Peter Legate and special friend Bob Flick.
Following Joan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Joan’s family would like to thank Dr. Lisa Roth, all the staff at Trillium Court and Huron Shores Hospice for their care, kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Huron Shores Hospice, Tiverton would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and may be arranged online or by contacting the funeral home.
