At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Monday, May 3, 2021, Mrs. Joan Kivell of Chatham passed away peacefully in her 95th year. She and her husband Reginald “Reggie” (deceased) were married for 65 years. Together they raised nine children: Brenda Gilbert, Barbara Reaume, Bonnie Burke (husband Kevin), Brad (wife Kim) of Dresden, Beckie Klymiuk (husband Glenn), Brent (wife Carla) of Byron, Tammy Kivell of Victoria BC, Darrin (wife Dawn) of Tilbury, and Dana (wife Terry) of Wallaceburg. Joan had 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Joan will be lovingly remembered by her brother Glen Peltier and sister Joyce DeLaurier. She is predeceased by her daughter Barbara and her brothers Arthur and Leonard. Joan deeply loved her family, working tirelessly for them. Her caring nature made her a very compassionate listener to both family and friends. She was also very devoted to her spiritual beliefs, volunteering whatever time and energy she could to bring hope to others. Joan will be dearly missed. Cremation will take place, with interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham, at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington St. West, Chatham, 519-352-2710.
