Joan Isabel (nee Mothersill) Elliot Simon on November 27th, 2021, in her 89th year, beloved wife of the late George D. Simon and the late Dr. Arthur W. Elliot. Dear mother of Susan Elliot Ballachey and her husband Peter of North Vancouver; David Elliot and his wife Christine Stanzlik-Elliot of Ancaster; Catherine Elliot Cummings and her husband Warren of Brantford. Loving Granny to Heather, Graham, Catherine, Melissa, Kristen, Katie, Caroline, Olivia and Madison. Caring Great-Granny to Asher, Evelyn, Cameron, Owen, Thomas and Logan. Predeceased by her son Robert Elliot, infant daughter, and her loving parents, Dr. and Mrs. George S. Mothersill of Rockcliffe Park, Ottawa. Survived by her brother Dr. John S. Mothersill of Victoria, B.C. Joan was an Ottawa debutante and was presented to Lord and Lady Alexander of Tunis on two occasions. Joan served as a dedicated Executive Director of Big Sisters of Brant County for twenty-six years. She served as Regent of the Viscount Alexander of Tunis Chapter I.O.D.E., on the Board of the Brantford Golf and Country Club, on the Board of Governors of the Brantford General Hospital, the Board of Sheridan Place, and on the Management Committee of the Women’s Probus Club of Brant.
