HORN, Joan Evon – Passed away peacefully at Stedman Community Hospice, Brantford on April 9, 2021 with family by her side. Beloved wife of James Horn for over 60 years until his passing in 2016. Mother of William (Catherine), Karen (David Grierson), Katherine (Lloyd Baker) and Kimberly (John Richardson). Grandmother of Darik, Alison (Will), Aaron, Drew (Stephanie), Nathan, Michael (Nicole), Leigha (Drew), Kristyn (Alan), Trevor (Lyndsay). Great-grandmother of Garrett, Alexander, Olivia, Krysten (Justin), Robert (Julia), Audri and Danica. Great-great-grandmother of Caylee and Lucas. Born in Simcoe on August 17, 1932, the daughter of Richard and Mae (Goodwin) Coones. Joan is survived by her only sibling, loving older sister Shirley (Graeme) Bates. Joan was a generous supporter over the years of the Stedman and Carpenter Hospices, Long Point Land Trust, The War Amps, BCHS Foundation, Brant County SPCA, Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family extends their thanks and appreciation to Hospice staff for the compassionate care Joan received and the support offered to the family. A private family service and interment at Port Dover Cemetery has taken place. If wished, a donation to one of the many charities that were important to Joan and Jim would be appreciated by the family. www.tollfh.ca
