Early Thursday Morning, October 21st, with her niece, Joanne by her side and surrounded by the love of her family, Jill passed away peacefully just two days before her 87th birthday and just two weeks after she became ill.
Jill had a varied career: she trained as a nurse in England and the worked as a flight attendant which allowed her to travel the world. After coming to Canada in the late sixties, Jill worked at several jobs before finishing her career as a manager at Hamilton Housing.
Jill was predeceased by her parents and by two brothers, Guy in 2011 and Gervase in 2017. She leaves behind her dear brother Garth and his wife, Pam of Nanaimo B.C., their children, nephew Jonathon and niece, Joanne (daughter, Carys). She also leaves her sister-in-law, Susan (Guy), and her children, niece, Caroline (Craig), their two boys, Reid and Madoc and her nephew, Guy(Sarina). Jill leaves nieces Nikki, Matilda, Octavia, and nephew Rowland in England. Jill was a dear friend of Bob and Irene Fotheringham.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wilson, Jill’s G.P. and Dr. Marshall, her palliative care physician who arranged her entry to McNally House hospice. They would also like to thank the wonderful staff of McNally House who went above and beyond to ensure that Jill’s last days were as peaceful and comfortable as possible and who welcomed family members at all hours.
At Jill’s request, there will be no funeral service. Donations to McNally House or to the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Jill’s memory would be welcomed by the family.
