Jessie McInnes Cochran Millar Monday December 13th 2021

Millar, Jessie:
Jessie McInnes Cochran (Todd) Millar, age 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 13, 2021 at home. Born on April 4,1929 in Glasgow Scotland, she married James Millar on July 31,1950 in Glasgow. Jessie and Jim immigrated to Canada in 1953. A loving mother and wife, she was dedicated and honoured in her role as a homemaker. Jessie loved to care for people, she knitted and sewed constantly. Her hands were rarely still. It was strange to see Jessie idle as she would say “It is a great life if you don’t weaken”.
As a devout Christian she loved and served her church, St. James Rosemount United in Kitchener. Jessie and Jim spent many years giving to their church and belonging to the church community. Her life was a living example of her favourite Bible verse, Acts 20:35 “It is more blessed to give than to receive”.
Jessie’s family would like to thank Dr. Vitou and the dialysis unit at Grand River Hospital and Dr. Warren and the heart functions clinic at St. Mary’s Hospital for the excellent care that she received.
Jessie was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Millar (2017). Loving mother of Gord (Vera), Brian (Carol), Karen (Jack) and Todd (Barbra). Cherished grandmother of Trevor (Breanna), Kristin (Brad), Melissa (Dean), Nathan (Katherine), Larissa and TJ and great-grandmother of Kyala, Elisha, Emerson, Cameron, Addison, Colton and Maggie.
Jessie’s family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. Reception to follow.
Those wishing to attend Jessie’s visitation, service and reception must RSVP through the funeral home website or by calling 519-749-8467.
For those unable to attend, Jessie’s service may be viewed via livestream at www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming
As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. James Rosemount United Church, Grand River Hospital Foundation – Dialysis Unit or St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation – Cardiac Care would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
