Jessie “Lorraine”‘s Obituary
Townsend, Jessie Lorraine – 88, Lockeport, Nova Scotia passed away while she was a resident of Surf Lodge Nursing Home on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Born in West Head, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Ada (Townsend) Roache.
Lorraine was a strong supporter of her family and loved each member wholeheartedly. She desperately missed her husband, Albert, after taking up residence at Surf Lodge and missed their snacks of toast and tea in the middle of the night. Lorraine was a hard worker who instilled a strong work ethic in each of her six children. She loved her gardens and often worried about the wind or rain destroying her blooms before they were fully mature. Lorraine worried about the ‘boys’ going hunting and often called them each night to make sure they got home safely. She was an amazing woman who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Albert Townsend; sons, Dean (Janice), Emerson (Laura), Andre (Jackie), Mark (Vanessa); Stepson, Tim Townsend (Angela); daughters, Wanda (Richard), and Lorenda (John); 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Rupert Fiske; brothers, Herman, Eugene, Mervin, Edwin, Keith and Ernie; sisters, Edith and Elaine.
Visitation will be Friday, September 10th from 7-9 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Lockeport. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 11th from the Lockeport Pentecostal Church at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Cy Mersereau and Pastor Jeff Peters officiating. Burial in Lockeport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lockeport Pentecostal Church.
